Early Feedback

As much as I love books set in the US there's something familiar about a book set in the UK it's like that could be me, that could be my life and the humour there's nothing quite like the British humour and this book had me laughing out loud. ~ Our Kindle Konfessions

Loved it! Such fun. Dylan *sigh* #teamballs ~ Surrender To Books

Omg I bloody loved this! Novellas are always hit and miss but this went out of the park. Absolutely brilliant. ~ Goodreads Review

Everything about this Novella worked, the banter between Camille and Dylan was both funny and sexy. The sibling bickering between Camille and Tyler was bloody genius and Camille’s mom was brilliant!! ~ Gemma Reads Too Much

Gabriel Cruz had spent time dirtside on most of the planets clustered around the galaxy’s busier jump nodes.  He’d pulled a few tours on some of the worlds of the distant Outer Reaches.  His job required plenty of travel and a familiarity with many of the galaxy’s exotic locales and bustling centers of commerce, the slums and the luxury resorts, the slave markets and the sex trade.  Gabriel hadn’t seen it all, but he’d seen a lot of it.  And he could still find much to admire in a summer morning in a temperate climate zone on the planet its inhabitants called Earth.     The yellow sun was shining out of a flawless blue sky as he got out of the car and followed Rayna up the sidewalk toward Ethan’s house.  It would be hot soon, but Gabriel didn’t mind the heat.  He hated the cold of ships and space stations and dank colonial outposts, always balancing the scarcity of resources against the needs of many.  Here he could smell the rich earth, the vegetation growing in it, the asphalt and the car exhaust.  He could hear the birds singing, the neighbors mowing lawns and taking out the garbage.  For one minute, he could pretend his life was like anyone else’s.  Gabriel took that minute.  Then he took a deep breath and went up the steps into Ethan’s house.     A young man in the white uniform shirt of a Metro Nashville PD officer stopped them at the front door with the usual bluff and bluster.  Gabriel could see Ethan start toward them from the office inside on the right, but FBI Special Agent Alana Matheson was quicker.     She waved them in from a desk in the smaller office to the left, dismissing the uniform. “It’s all right, Officer. They’re friends of the family.”  She nodded as she came to join them.  “Morning, folks.”
“Agent Matheson.” Gabriel was intrigued by the way her grass-green eyes locked on to his.  They studied him, as if they’d never quite encountered anything like him before.  He didn’t know whether to be flattered or insulted by the thought, but he recognized he had that much in common with the FBI agent. He’d never seen local law enforcement like her before either.       Slightly unnerved, he said the first thing that came to mind.  “Have you been here all night?”     She smiled, her fatigue showing.  “No, I did get a little sleep.  Don’t think your friend got any at all, though.  He’s looking pretty slammed.”  She indicated the office where the doctor was talking with Rayna.     Gabriel noted the signs of weariness in Ethan’s body that went beyond the obvious need for sleep and healing, his bone-cracking tension and heart-rending pain, his desperation.  He felt his own chest tighten in sympathy.  He turned back to Alana to see her watching him.      “How long have you known Ethan Roberts, Mr. Cruz?”      He held her gaze to see what her reaction would be and was delighted to see the color rise in her face in the seconds before he answered her question. “Not long.  Sam and Rayna are mutual friends.  They asked me to see if I could be of help.”     “In what way?”     “You might say I specialize in recovering what is lost.”     “As in missing persons.” She gave him that thorough once-over again.  “I’m aware you’re a private investigator.  Has Roberts hired you to find his wife and son?”     Gabriel smiled. It hadn’t taken her long to find his data plant.     “As I said, Sam and Rayna asked me to help.  I’m not being paid.”     “Mr. Cruz, I hope I don’t have to tell you that interfering with a Federal investigation is against the law.”     Somehow he found her warning intensely sexy.  “I have no intention of interfering.  I’m simply here helping a friend recover something he’s lost.  In this case, starting with his memory of what happened yesterday at the river.”     Alana’s gaze narrowed.  “Are you also a psychiatrist of some sort, sir?”     “No.”     “A hypnotherapist?”     “Not really.”     “Then how do you expect to be able to help?”     He shrugged.  “I have my ways.  Some people would consider them somewhat . . . unconventional.”     Her lips curved.  His breath stopped.     “Really.  Okay.  Maybe I should sit in on your meeting today, see for myself.”     He almost laughed.  He hadn’t planned on this, but he could see no real harm in it.  He would leave her behind long before he got to the point where the chase got dangerous.    “Why not?”     Her smile widened, revealing white, even teeth, and she waved a hand toward the office. “After you, Mr. Cruz.”    “Thank you, Agent Matheson.  And, please, call me Gabriel.”     “Might as well call me Lana,” she murmured as he passed her.  “We’re going to be very close friends from now on.”

Until We Collide by
Charlotte Fallowfield

Synopsis

Until We Collide
A Romantic Comedy Novel.

What do you do when the guy you’re in love with is seeing someone else?

That’s the dilemma facing Paige Taylor. All of her life she’s only ever had eyes for the gorgeous Alec Wright, but despite their undeniable chemistry, their timing has always been off. Fast approaching her thirtieth birthday, Paige despairs of ever finding love and a happy ever after. Her best friend Poppie tells her that she can either watch life pass her by, or grab it with both hands. She convinces Paige to throw herself back into the dating pool, or she could be waiting for Alec forever.

What Paige didn’t expect was the catalogue of dating disasters to follow. A neck brace, jelly fish, stitches, flashing and an encounter with a gorilla were some of the most memorable. Despite some downright hilarious, humiliating and cringe worthy dates, her biological clock is ticking and Paige is determined to keep trying until she finds the one. Was Alec Wright always her Mr. Right, or is he still out there waiting to be found?

Join Paige in her quest to find the ultimate prize. Love.

Charlotte Fallowfield's alter ego, C.J. Fallowfield, is an Amazon bestselling author of contemporary humorous erotic romantic fiction.

Our Review

Until We Collide by Charlotte Fallowfield

Reviewed by Jane on behalf of Lush Reads Book Blog
4.5
Impeccably written.
Funny.
Adorable characters.
Sexy hero.

Right from the get go I was pulled into ‘Charlotte Fallowfield land’, a place where the story being told almost becomes a reality. Every time I read this lady’s work, I get lost in her writing, her ability to spin a yarn draws me in and I feel like I’m best friends with her characters. This lady never fails to amaze me.
When Charlotte told me she was writing a comedy romance, I was a little nervous because I have become so used to her other genre’s that usually involve steamy romance scenes. I started reading this book, and by chapter two I was completely hooked.
The story and the characters:
Paige… oh poor Paige. The girl is clumsy, some may say she’s a lost cause, but one thing is for certain, it’s never a dull day with her around. Paige wins the ‘unluckiest person alive award’. She’s just one of those people who, if you knew her in real life, you’d be best friends with her in a heartbeat. I absolutely adore her. One date with her crush and she’s smitten, but circumstances draw her away from him. Paige has a string of failed, laughable and hilarious relationships with men, all the while she hasn’t forgotten about her one true love.
Alec is our hero. He’s sexy, smart and driven and he won’t let anything stand in his way of chasing his dream career.
Through this journey we see Paige become a famous model and Alec is a photographer, they run into each other from time to time, both of them usually dating a loser of some description and they keep denying their feelings for each other. All I wanted to do while reading was climb into the pages, grab them both and bang their heads together.
The only criticism is that it was a little too much angst for my tastes.

Summary:
Above all else, Paige and Alec want nothing more than happiness for each other, even if situations come between them actually dating. A very brief date does turn into a solid friendship that most would be happy with, but Paige has fought with her feelings for Alec for years.
Comedy capers, endless ‘bad’ relationships and a wacky best friend make this book the stand out read for me this year so far.
Fantastic characters (not just the lead two), have made me fall in love with Charlotte’s writing even further.
This read is sexy, funny, cleverly written and had me glued.
P.S Look out for the Fulham Flasher, the cheating fire-fighter boyfriend which leads to mission revenge and Jean-Claude, Paiges’ boss and solid friend. There is also a funny has hell incident with fake tan and a fire.

Happy reading and stay lush
